The most prominent part of the circumpulpal dentin is formed by intertubular dentin, whereas peritubular dentin is found around the lumen of the tubules,. The ratio between inter-tubular and peri-tubular dentin is highly species dependant.

Where is Intertubular dentin located?

The intertubular dentin, which lies between the tubules, is a less-calcified matrix that consists of some apatite crystals embedded within a collagen matrix.

What is Intertubular and peritubular dentin?

Dentin is a biological composite composed of dentin tubules; peritubular dentin, which encircles each tubule; and a collagen matrix of intertubular dentin dispersed between the dentin tubules. ... In contrast, the intertubular dentin has a mineral content of 70%.

Where is Peritubular?

In the renal system, peritubular capillaries are tiny blood vessels, supplied by the efferent arteriole, that travel alongside nephrons allowing reabsorption and secretion between blood and the inner lumen of the nephron.

What is Peritubular dentin?

Peritubular dentin (PTD) is a relatively dense mineralized tissue that surrounds the tubules of coronal tooth dentin. It is composed mainly of crystals of carbonated apatite together with a small amount of collagen.

Where is the dentin found?

Dentin or dentine is a layer of material that lies immediately underneath the enamel of the tooth. It is one of the four major components of the tooth which comprises: The outer hard enamel.

What are the Hypocalcified structures of dentin?

• Enamel hypocalcification is a defect of tooth enamel in which normal amounts of enamel are developed but are hypomineralized.
• In this imperfection the enamel is flexible than usual. ...
• Dentin or dentine is a tier of matter that lies right away below the enamel of the tooth.

Where are the renal veins located?

cardiovascular system. Renal veins lie in front of the corresponding renal artery; the right renal vein receives tributaries exclusively from the kidney, while the left receives blood from a number of other organs as well.

Where are continuous capillaries found?

Continuous capillaries are generally found in the nervous system, as well as in fat and muscle tissue. Within nervous tissue, the continuous endothelial cells form a blood brain barrier, limiting the movement of cells and large molecules between the blood and the interstitial fluid surrounding the brain.

Where are most nephrons located?

• Cortical nephrons – located entirely in cortex; most nephrons (80%)
• Juxtamedullary nephrons – found at boundary of cortex and medulla.

Where are Odontoblasts located?

Odontoblasts are tall columnar cells located at the periphery of the dental pulp. They derive from ectomesenchymal cells originated by migration of neural crest cells during the early craniofacial development.

Where is the apex of the tooth located?

The apex is located on the tip of the root, or on the pointed end of it. Different teeth have a different number of roots. For example, the incisors have only one root and one apex. Teeth that have two roots have two apexes and so on.

Where is the pulp cavity located?

The pulp chamber is the upper section of the cavity contained within the crown of the tooth. The root canals are the lower section of the cavity found within the tooth's roots.

How are dentinal tubules formed?

Mesenchymal cell differentiation into odontoblasts determines dentin tubule formation in the prospective dentin. Dentin and tubule formation is accomplished by proteins secreted from odontoblasts into the extracellular space. These events are followed by mineralization [12].

What bones support the teeth and surrounding tissues?

The alveolar bone supports the teeth and is covered by gingival tissue. It contains several different types of bone. The inner and outer surfaces of the bone are made up of dense cortical plates. The portion between the cortical plates is called trabecular or cancellous bone.

Where are the capillaries located in the digestive system?

In the stomach, submucosal arterioles branch into capillaries at the base of the glands and pass along the glands to the luminal surface of the mucosa where they form a luminal capillary network (Figure 2.1) [12].

Where are continuous capillaries found within the body quizlet?

Where are continuous capillaries found in the body? Most abuundant muscle, skin, lung, fat, connective tissue and nervous tissue. You just studied 29 terms!

Where are fenestrated capillaries found quizlet?

Fenestrated capillaries are found wherever active filtration or absorption occurs (e.g., small intestines and kidneys).

Where is the renal artery in the kidney?

The right renal artery originates from the anterolateral aspect of the aorta and runs in an inferior course behind the inferior vena cava to reach the right kidney, while the left renal artery originates slightly higher and from a more lateral aspect of the aorta, and runs almost horizontally to the left kidney.

What is the renal vein and the renal artery?

Renal Veins carry filtered blood from the kidneys to the posterior vena cava. Renal Arteries carry unfiltered blood from the aorta to the kidneys.

Where do the renal arteries branch from the lateral wall of the aorta?

The renal arteries arise from the aorta just inferior to the origin of the superior mesenteric artery. The right renal artery is longer and a little inferior to the left renal artery and traverses behind the inferior vena cava (IVC). The left renal artery passes posterior to the left renal vein.

Which are the Hypocalcified structures of enamel?

Some areas in enamel are hypocalcified: enamel spindles, enamel tufts, and enamel lamellae. Causal factors may occur locally, affecting only a single tooth, or they may act systemically, affecting all teeth in which enamel is being formed.

What do dentinal tubules contain?

The dentinal tubule contains serum-like fluid and an odontoblast cell process. Dentine exhibits regional differences in tubule diameter and density. It has been reported that dentinal tubule diameter can vary from 2.5 µm at the pulp to 0.9 µm peripherally.

What are the zones of pulp?

The pulp cavity exhibits four zones as you progress from the dentin-pulp junction toward the center of the pulp cavity: 1) the odontoblast zone, 2) cell-free zone (basal layer of Weil), 3) cell-rich zone, and 4) the pulp core.
