Random dopant fluctuation (RDF) is a form of process variation resulting from variation in the implanted impurity concentration. In MOSFET transistors, RDF in the channel region can alter the transistor's properties, especially threshold voltage.

How is nMOS depletion mode transistor represented? Explanation: nMOS depletion mode transistor can be represented by using polysilicon over ntype layer and with an implant. Explanation: Implant is represented using yellow color dotted lines. It is drawn in the middle of the nMOS or pMOS wherever the implant is used.

Which transistor is formed in P-well?

P-well is created on n substrate to accommodate n-type devices whereas p-type devices are formed in the ntype substrate. Solution: Oxidation process is carried out using high purity oxygen and hydrogen.

Which of the following is are true about the MOSFET?

1. Which of the following is true about MOSFET? Explanation: According to the physical structure of MOSFET, there is a Silicon dioxide layer between channel and gate terminal. Since Silicon dioxide acts as a resistor with infinite resistance, there is no connection between the channel and gate terminal of MOSFET.

Therefore, when transistors are used in digital circuits, they usually operate in saturation and cut off regions and option (D) is correct.

Which of these is not true for a class B amplifier *?

1. Which of these is not true for a class B amplifier? Explanation: The class B amplifier has zero DC bias as the transistors are biased at cut-off only. Each transistor conducts when the input is greater than the base-emitter voltage.

Which of the following statement about a common base transistor is true?

Which of the following statement about a common base transistor is true? Explanation: Common base transistor has very low input resistance (20Ω). It also has very high output resistance. Its current gain is less than unity and it has a medium voltage gain.

Which of the following is true for a PNP transistor in active region?

9. Which of the following is true for a pnp transistor in active region? Explanation: Whether the transistor in npn or pnp, for it be in active region the EB junction must be reversed bias the CB junction must be forward bias.

Which of the following is an advantage of a transistor?

Advantages of Transistor:

Lower cost and smaller in size, especially in small-signal circuits. Low operating voltages for greater safety, lower costs, and tighter clearances. Extremely long life. No power consumption by a cathode heater.

What is NMOS pass transistor?

The nMOS pass-transistor logic uses only an nMOS transistor as the pass element as shown in Fig. 2(a). This gate passes logic '0' efficiently but not logic '1', and the gate delay is dependent on the input signal. The nMOS pass-transistor implemen- tation of the 4-to-1 multiplexer is shown in Fig.

What is NMOS and PMOS transistors?

MOS is an acronym for Metal-Oxide Semiconductor. There are two types of MOS transistors: pMOS (positive-MOS) and nMOS (negative-MOS). ... Whereas the nMOS will form a closed-circuit with the source when the voltage is non-negligible, the pMOS will form an open-circuit with the source when the voltage is non-negligible.

Why NMOS transistor is selected as pull down transistor?

reason: take nmos pass transistor , u give 1 terminal to vdd and the gate terminal (vgs) to vdd. now u can't get vdd at the other(sourse) terminal of nmos , this is bcoz when the sourse is charged to vdd-vth then the effective vgs = (vdd-(vdd-vt)) => vgs = vt.

Which of the following is true for a transistor in the saturation region?

Which of the following is true for the saturation region of BJT transistor? Solution: The collector current is directly proportional to the base current in the saturation region of the BJT.

When a transistors is used as a Swtch it operate in the region?

Transistor acts as a switch in the saturation region and cutoff region. The emitter-base junction and the collector-base junction is reverse biased in the cutoff region. Both the junctions are forward biased in the saturation region.

When transistors are used in digital circuits they usually operate in the active region breakdown region linear region saturation and cutoff regions?

In saturation region transistor acts as closed switch and in cut off region it acts as open switch. In digital circuits o/p can be '0' or '1'. So when in saturation region means closed switch it gives output '1' and in cut off region means open switch it gives o/p '0'.

1. Which of the following devices does not belong to the transistor family? Explanation: GTO is gate turn off transistor, it belongs to the Thyristor family. All the other devices belong to the transistor family.

Which of the following is true about FET?

Which of the following statement is true about FET? Explanation: Because of the Sio2 insulator, doped between drain and source at the top, the resistance offered by this is very high. The insulator will stop the flow of electron from one part to another which acts as an open circuit.

Which of the following statement is true about FET common source amplifier compared to BJT amplifier?

8. Which of the following statement is true about FET common source amplifier compared to BJT amplifier? Explanation: FET due to its physical nature has very high input impedance; hence the voltage drop in input side will be very less making the entire signal to pass through the input port. 9.

What is n-well and p-well?

The N-well / P-well technology, where n-type diffusion is done over a p-type substrate or p-type diffusion is done over n-type substrate respectively. The Twin well technology, where NMOS and PMOS transistor are developed over the wafer by simultaneous diffusion over an epitaxial growth base, rather than a substrate.
