PSA: Mars' atmospheric density gives atmospheric thrusters *roughly* 72.5% efficiency at ground level.

Can you use atmospheric thrusters on Mars space engineers?

No atmosphere, which means that atmospheric thrusters don't work.

Do atmospheric thrusters work on the moon?

Atmospheric Thrusters

They operate anywhere 100% at the moon's radius or 'the surface' to 0% effectiveness (providing no lift or propulsion) when they leave the atmosphere of the moon.

Do atmospheric thrusters work in space?

Atmospheric thrusters are for ships that will primarily be in atmospheres, such as small surveyors or scout ships. They lose a lot of efficiency in weak atmospheres or in space, so keep them planetside. They require electricity only when active.

Can you use atmospheric thrusters in space in space engineers?

only operate on planets with atmospheres as the name implies. They are the most efficient source of thrust in an atmosphere. However, their main disadvantage is the futility of using them in space. If an Engineer should choose to build them on their vessel in space it is recommended that their power be switched off.

The Electric Thruster That Could Send Humans to Mars

Do atmospheric thrusters cause damage?

TL;DR: Atmospheric thrusters cause a small amount of thruster damage, fairly slowly. They really shouldn't, but, they do. Be careful out there, engineers!

What is an atmospheric thruster?

Small Atmospheric Thrusters are powered Thrust blocks that only work while they're in an atmosphere of a planet (not any atmosphere in general such as a pressurized room outside a planetary influence).

How do you unlock atmospheric thrusters?

If you have progression enabled, you will need to build the atmospheric thrusters first in order to unlock them. Go into the block menu, then at the top you will see a tab that says “progression”. Click on that, then scroll down and it will show you what you need to build first to unlock them, as well as anything else.

Does uranium spawn on the moon Space Engineers?

Uranium Ore is the rarest naturally-occurring ore. ... As of version 1.189, Uranium ore cannot be found on planets. Instead it is more easily found in asteroids as an oily black ore.

Is there ice on the moon Space Engineers?

The Moon is Earth's only satellite of sufficient size. ... The majority of the ice on the Moon can be found on its Ice cap away from most of the ores.

Do atmospheric thrusters work on Titan?

Atmospherics work well on planets that have atmospheres. On Earthlike, it's generally under 5,000 meters above sea-level. On planets like Alien, Mars, and moons like Titan, they will also work.

Do ion thrusters work on Europa space engineers?

Europa's atmosphere allows for atmospheric and ion thruster-based ships to fly there, but is too thin to be breathable, making Europa a challenging start to the game. ... Due to the amount of ice, it is best to make Europa a refueling station for Hydrogen-Based ships.

Are small batteries worth it space engineers?

Fits small ship

When providing power, batteries are more efficient than Small Reactors in terms of mass, but they're only 80% as efficient in terms of volume.

What planets are in space engineers?

Planets in Space Engineers were released on November 12, 2015, after being in development since February 2015. There are several types of planets, themed after Earth, the Moon, Mars, Titan, Europa, and an "alien" planet.

What is the most powerful ion thruster?

The ion engines on BepiColombo are four QinetiQ T6 ion thrusters. They operate singly or in pairs, to provide a maximum combined thrust of 290 mN (millinewtons), which makes it the most powerful ion engine in space. For comparison, NASA's Dawn spacecraft used an Nstar ion engine that produced only 92 mN.

How fast can an ion thruster go?

Spacecraft powered by these thrusters can reach speeds up to 90,000 meters per second (over 200,000 mph). In comparison, the Space Shuttles can reach speeds around 18,000 mph. The trade-off for the high top speeds of ion thrusters is low thrust (or low acceleration).

Where is cobalt space engineers?

Cobalt Ore is found in asteroids, beneath the surface of both planets and moons. You'll need to look for dark spots, as they indicate that ore is found underneath, after which you'll have to do a bit of drilling.

Do ion thrusters need fuel space engineers?

There are three types of thrusters: Atmospheric thrusters which are electrically powered and only work in the atmosphere of a planet, Ion-based thrusters that use electricity and work in vacuum, and powerful Hydrogen thrusters which require Hydrogen as a fuel.

How do hydrogen engines work space engineers?

Hydrogen Engines are used to power grids and machines by consuming hydrogen gas. They need to be connected to a conveyor system in order to access the hydrogen fuel. ... It can hold 500,000 liters of fuel. The Small-grid Hydrogen Engine functions the same way with 2 conveyor ports on opposite ends as an inline version.
